On December 16-19, 2019 a delegation of the Cambodian Human Rights Committee (CHRC) headed by H.E. Mr. Chin Malin, Vice President of the Committee, paid a visit to Moscow to participate in the 3rd International Conference “Human Rights Protection in Eurasia: Exchange of Best Practices of Ombudsmen”. During the forum, H.E. Mr. Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, H.E. Mrs. Tatiana Moskalkova, Higher Commissioner for Human Rights (HCHR) in the Russian Federation, H.E. Mrs. Liliane Maury Pasquier, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and other honourable guests delivered addresses. More than 80 foreign representatives, delegates from Russian public authorities, scientific and human rights communities participated in the event.

Besides that, the Eurasian Ombudsmen Alliance meeting was held to explore the issues of human rights protection in the EOA member-states and determine the future vector of the organization development, with the head of Cambodian delegation shared experience in protecting the rights of migrants in the Kingdom.

Furthermore, representatives of the Russian HCHR and CHRC had a meeting to discuss the prospects of expanding bilateral cooperation, and signed the Memorandum of Understanding, aimed at improving human rights protection, strengthening democracy and promoting substantive interactions between the ombudsman bodies of the two countries.
