Visa transfer to new passport

A foreign citizen who presents a valid passport without a visa and an old cancelled/damaged passport with a valid Russian visa upon entry into the Russian Federation will be denied entry.

In this regard, foreing citizens need to transfer a valid visa from a cancelled passport to a new one at any Russian diplomatic or consular mission well advance of a trip to Russia.

To transfer a visa, the following documents must be submitted to the consular section of the Embassy:

1) Cancelled passport with a valid Russian visa

2) New valid passport

3) Visa application form completed on the website https://visa.kdmid.ru, printed on one sheet on both sides;

4) One photograph (3.5 x 4.5 cm, color, on a white background);

The consular fee for visa restoration is 48 US dollars.
